Hello again! As promised, here is the FULL/COMPLETE PATTERN called "Perfectly Pink" found in the June 1993 issue #39 of "Hooked on Crochet!" Magazine from my previous blog post. Once again...
Materials needed for this Project:
If you love creating from patterns, you can make a pair of booties in no time at all. Click the pictures for steps described in the captions.
Now that your perfect little booties are done... time to go on to the bonnet. After the 15th row of the bonnet, you will then proceed to create Rows 19-30 which is the texture of the slanted shell stitch. Once you have finished Row 30, which is the spaces for your yarn tie and/or ribbon, you will then whip stitch the opening together. (click the 2nd photo above.)
I chose to use Poms as a finishing touch, but you can use ribbon too! I will tell you if you do chose to use ribbon... you will ONLY NEED 1 SKEIN of the Loops & Threads Woolike Yarn. At $2.99/per skein, WE CAN NOT GO WRONG, my friends! I just bought 12 skeins myself! And there are so many beautiful colors that I had never seen at Michael's! I have posted a lot about Cascade Yarns Cherub Baby, which I do still love. However, if you're looking for your yarn to go a very very long way... L&T WY is very similar in texture/feel to CY. I love them both so much! I highly recommend both of these yarn brands because they are the best to me.
Please remember if you make any of the patterns posted here on my blog, I would love to see them! Feel free to tag me, mention me in a comment, or use the hashtag #sewsorose. Most importantly, if you have any questions.. feel free to DM on Instagram, FB, twitter or email!
Until next time!
Let gratitude be the pillow upon which you kneel to say your nightly prayer.
Happy Monday! I do hope everyone had a great weekend. Last weekend, in the midst of cleaning, sorting and organizing our garage... I received a text from a friend/client asking if I could make her another doll. She has ordered more dolls from me than any of my other friends or clients, so I'm always tickled when she asks!
However, I stated.. we were in midst of this huge undertaking and I dreaded telling her 'no'. It just so happen that day, I had gotten a few packages that needed to be taken up to my sewing room. Once I was up there, I saw them... I had 2 dolls already made! How could I forget that?! I was very happy to let her know and let her chose which one she would like to purchase. Needless to say, when she texted me back that she wanted both of them, I was so overjoyed, thrilled and so tickled pink! Yay!
If you read the comments, I do state that not everyone likes my dolls. I do understand this logic to some degree because I do see a lot of dolls that I do not like. For real. I'm just happy these little beauties will be off to their new homes soon! Thank you Sarah for your continued support and all the love you have these dolls!
Here are a couple of the dollies from the past in the making and as well as the finished product. I am very thankful for all the orders I've had for these girl dolls (haven't made a boy yet) and very appreciative of all the positive feedback about them! THANK YOU if you have ordered one in the past!
I would like to share.. the doll pattern comes from a stack of patterns my Mother gave me years ago. The doll & clothes pattern are homemade; cut out from parchment paper, although it does not come with a printed face and/or any instructions at all. After I made these last 2, I really decided not to make them anymore. But then I get a text, and how quickly I'm reminded of how much I enjoy making them! Also, I do have a few ideas on how to improve the pattern more to my liking, but have not had the chance to start that.
So wish me luck with that! Thanks for reading!
Until next time,

Have I mentioned how much I love making #handmadefriends? What can be better than making friends on line who love all the same things you do? I will tell you... when someone who doesn't know you in real life, yet is always there for you and then offers to make you something! When my friend Em sent me a message a few weeks ago and offered to send me one of her awesome earwarmers.. I was floored! I couldn't believe it! Of course, I squealed and almost dropped my phone trying to respond to her DM. lol
Here's my gorgeous earwarmer that I just can't wait to wear!
Here is what I sent her and I am so happy that she loved it all!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
